Let’s Be Realistic About Late Deals

We’ll level with you, there are times of the year when you can get a good deal last minute to Florida.  But at other times such as Christmas, Easter and New Year, the prices are going to be a lot higher.  Flights at peak times will be at their very most expensive the later you book.  The rough rule of thumb is that flight prices go up the later you buy your tickets, so prices will be higher and there will be fewer options.

On the flip side, if you’re looking to visit in off-season (check out my blog about the best times to visit), there’s more of a chance of finding a last minute deal to Orlando.  

Have A Realistic Budget

With less than 6 weeks to go until your potential trip to America, you need to know how much you can afford to spend.  Without this, we can’t help you.  You also need to be realistic as well.

For example, we had an enquiry recently for a last minute trip.  They didn’t have a budget in mind, but thought that £600 per person seemed about right.  We then explained to them that Disney theme park tickets alone would be over £500 each, leaving less than £100 for everything else.

Our Number 1 Tip Last Minute Tip: Be flexible

The chances of finding 100% exactly what you want a week before going is almost zero.  You need to be flexible and realistic.  Always fly from Heathrow, but live in the Midlands?  Manchester could have better flights.  Consider flying indirect when normally you’d “only” fly direct.  A holiday deal is great, but you need to be realistic with what’s available and the prices.
